HydraFacial Pre + Post Treatment Care

Prepare for Your HydraFacial

Your HydraFacial is designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, extract, hydrate, and replenish your skin while being customized to what your complexion needs that day.

A little preparation before your appointment—and gentle care afterward—can help minimize unnecessary sensitivity and support your results.

Please review this guide before your appointment and save it so you can easily reference your aftercare following your treatment.

Before Your HydraFacial

3–5 Days Before

Unless otherwise instructed by your esthetician:

  • Pause retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliating scrubs, at-home peels, and other potentially irritating products in the treatment area.

  • Avoid waxing, depilatory creams, and aggressive hair-removal treatments on the area being treated.

  • Avoid professional exfoliating treatments or other procedures that may leave your skin sensitive.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning, or anything that may cause a sunburn.

  • Avoid picking, peeling, or intentionally exfoliating your skin.

  • Keep your skincare routine gentle and your skin well hydrated.

Do not discontinue prescription skincare or medication without first consulting the healthcare professional who prescribed it. Please let your esthetician know what you are currently using so your HydraFacial can be adjusted when appropriate.

Before Your Appointment

Please let Sinta Skin Studio know before your appointment if you:

  • Develop a sunburn, rash, open wound, cold sore, or active skin infection

  • Are experiencing unusual redness, swelling, irritation, or sensitivity

  • Have recently had a chemical peel, microneedling, laser treatment, waxing, or another professional skin treatment

  • Have recently received Botox, dermal filler, or other injectable treatments

  • Have started a new medication or prescription skincare product

  • Are currently using prescription retinoids or have a history of isotretinoin use

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have experienced any significant changes to your skin or health since completing your consultation form

Certain conditions may require us to modify your HydraFacial or reschedule your appointment.

Your skin health always comes first.

The Day of Your HydraFacial

Come as you are—makeup is completely okay. We'll begin your treatment with a thorough cleanse.

Avoid introducing new or highly active skincare products immediately before your appointment.

Your HydraFacial is customized based on your skin's condition and goals that day. The exfoliation, extractions, booster, masque, and additional modalities used may vary from one appointment to the next.

After Your HydraFacial
Protect Your Glo ✨

Your skin has just received professional cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and hydration. Give your complexion a little extra care while it settles after treatment.

For the First 24–48 Hours

Unless your esthetician gives you different instructions:

  • Cleanse gently with lukewarm water.

  • Keep your skin well hydrated.

  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily.

  • Avoid picking, squeezing, or scratching your skin.

  • Avoid scrubs, cleansing brushes, and other physical exfoliation.

  • Avoid introducing new skincare products.

  • Avoid excessive or prolonged sun exposure.

  • Avoid waxing or other potentially irritating facial treatments.

  • Keep your skincare routine simple and barrier-supportive.

Depending on the level of exfoliation and modalities used during your HydraFacial, your esthetician may recommend temporarily avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat, steam rooms, saunas, or very hot showers.

Always follow the personalized recommendations provided at your appointment.

When Can I Resume Retinol & Exfoliating Products?

Give your skin time to settle before returning to potentially irritating active ingredients.

Unless otherwise directed by your esthetician, wait until your skin feels completely calm and comfortable before gradually reintroducing:

  • Retinol and retinoids

  • AHAs and BHAs

  • Benzoyl peroxide

  • Exfoliating pads or toners

  • Scrubs

  • At-home peels

  • Other strong active treatments

Don't rush it. More exfoliation does not necessarily mean better results.

If you're unsure whether your skin is ready, reach out to us before restarting your actives.

What to Expect After Your HydraFacial

Most guests leave with skin that looks and feels smoother, plumper, refreshed, and hydrated.

Depending on your skin and the level of exfoliation or extractions performed, you may temporarily experience:

  • Mild pinkness or flushing

  • Slight sensitivity

  • Mild tightness

  • Temporary dryness

  • Minor tenderness in areas where extractions were performed

These effects are generally temporary and should gradually improve as your skin settles.

Everyone's skin responds differently, and your experience may vary depending on your skin condition and the treatment performed.

Keep Your Skin Hydrated

Hydration is one of the best ways to support your skin after your HydraFacial.

Continue using the gentle, hydrating products recommended by your esthetician and drink adequate fluids as part of your normal routine.

Avoid the temptation to add extra exfoliation simply because your skin feels smooth and refreshed. Your skin has already received professional exfoliation during your treatment.

Don't Forget Your SPF

Daily sun protection is especially important following professional exfoliation.

Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every morning and reapply as appropriate, particularly when spending time outdoors.

Avoid intentional tanning and excessive sun exposure following your treatment.

Protecting your skin helps preserve your results and supports your long-term skin goals.

Maintain Your HydraFacial Glo

Beautiful skin is built through consistency.

Many guests incorporate HydraFacial into their regular skincare routine approximately every 4–6 weeks, but your ideal treatment schedule will depend on your skin, goals, home care, and treatment plan.

Your esthetician will recommend when to return based on what your skin needs.
